Suffer from back pain?
After being in the fitness industry for over 10 years now. I have seen so many people who suffer or have suffered from on going back pain. There are many causes of back pain so I would always suggest booking in to see your Physio asap and get on top of it straight away.
However, I thought it would be a great idea if I got our resident physio Andy from Proform Physiotherapy to put together a few exercises that we can pass on to you all when your back does begin to flare up.
Fire Extinguishers – these stretches are to be used when your back has flared up. This is also the time where you should be resting from training.
– Glute Stretch (pigeon pose)
– Hip Stretch (couch stretch and Kettlebell in the hip)
– Lower Back Stretch (Iron Cross)
If you are unsure of these stretches please ask me next time you are in the gym and I will show you 🙂
Bricks – These exercises are to be performed when your back pain has subsided. Include these in your weekly training program. 3 times per week, in a warm up is a great idea.
– Glute Bridges
– Side Planks
– Stabiliser Reach
– Lateral Band Walks
– Monster Band Walks
