ABOUT ELIZABETH
As a teenager I really feel into some good form joining a local bootcamp with my mum. I quickly found out that there is so much to learn about exercise, health, and getting the most from the amazing bodies we are given.
I ended up going on to study Exercise and Sport Science at ACU, during my time here I was also a personal trainer running bootcamps and individual sessions. I found I still thirsty for more information and was continuously asking ‘Why’ and ‘How’ and ‘When’ for exercises.
There was so much I didn’t know. After finishing my degree, I decided to continue studying a Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology to better understand the complex conditions, both chronic and acute that affect our bodies.
I spent around three and a half years in private practice working with the rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries, NDIS, youth rehabilitation and post-surgery rehabilitation, and have recently had a change of pace moving into a Workers Compensation role.
I’ve also spent time away from sport and exercise after rupturing by ACL during a netball game, I’ve not since stepped back on the court but have a great understanding of the importance of rehabilitation and patience.
I realise now that I have spent over 10 years in the fitness industry and I still want to empower others to use their body to their advantage and to find enjoyment in movement, rather than seeing it as a chore or something they have to do to ‘lose weight’ or fit in.
If you see me around and want to have a chat about current health & fitness research or your niggling injury, please don’t hesitate!
